Worked on the dash for my '85. Transferred the odometer, tested but no joy - must be the PCB. Found a backyard, complete with extras '85 Limited Edition - not on the road since 2012, on the Island for a very decent price. Might need another project for this year.

Update: Set up two new to us iPhones. Sonya upgraded to the XR 128 GB from the 6S, I form the 7 to the XS 256 GB. Budget has a lot to do with this. The face recognition is impressive. Set Sonya's iPhone XR up for her and I was always getting the passcode to enter requirement. When I picked my XS up to use, never had to do this. Had Sonya do the face recognition, then we realized that the iPhone face recognition was extremely fast and that was why I was not seeing the passcode on my iPhone, but she needs to enter it. Only used my 7 for pictures to post and such, read a book I have, text, email viewing, some internet, and of course as a phone. Sonya's more into the apps, I don't have two full pages of apps yet. Could have stayed with the iPhone 7, but there is a day coming and probably soon when it won't be supported. Significant upgrade for both of us for the foreseeable future.

Cheers

It was a gorgeous day here yesterday... it was just shy of 70F and about 3mph southwesterly breeze. I'm still limited in mobility, but the zero-turn mower makes a great power-chair, between that and a reach-extender, I was able to help Ann clear deadfall from the flowerbeds all around the house, and with assistance of my neighbor, burn off all the decorative grasses and wildflowers along the ditches. I was also able to take pruning tools to our ornamental trees on the north side of the property... I felt kinda cheap doing it from the seat of the mower, but it worked... clip off a branch, toss it to the side, and move along... then I hooked up the trailer, policed up all the twigs, and dumped 'em in the burn pile. There's three more flower gardens, and one vegatable garden to clear, She'll probably wanna do those next saturday, as the temp dropped to 42, and 16 gusting to 25mph out of the east now, makes outdoor work here difficult, and in some instances, dangerous. She's gonna make it a mani-pedi day with a friend (her hands earned it yesterday!) I'm gonna pick away at an Arduino programming project at my desk. FWIW, the leg fared well yesterday with climbing on and off the machine, I think the activity helped it substantially, so it's time to have a talk with the PT and suggest we ramp it up a bit. It took too long to get PT started after the first follow-up, I believe I'm a bit behind-the-ball with this, need to step it up a bit.

I checked another one off the to-do list. Rode the 83 interstate from Palm Coast to Daytona to see the rolling harley show on main st. An hour of stop and go surrounded by reving harleys and loud music with no coherence! Best part was the ride along the coast in a t-shirt to get home. Probably won't do it again...done that, now I know.

Yeah... seems that's standard fare... and I don't 'get' it. Yeah okay, I understand some people having a 'clean' bike. I like a nice, restored classic... or a restored antique. I REALLY like an unrestored antique... running or not... because they're "only Original ONCE"... but I don't see the point in I live on a gravel road, mine will never be 'clean'.

I like 'accessories', but not for the sake of 'accessories'. I got a holder for a phone, but my new phone doesn't fit the old holder, so it's useless now...I've got LED driving lights, because the original headlamp is kinda lame on a foggy, overcast october night... my taillamps and turn signals have LEDs because the old lamps were tired, and the lenses were dirty, so I upgraded 'em when I cleaned out the lenses, and they're bright and visible now... and that's good enough for me...
I have a leather jacket... it protects me from some ugly road circumstances, but it doesn't have any club patches or stuff on it. I was never in the 101st Airborne, I wasn't allowed to serve (lost half my left foot at 14) and even if I had a mil-patch and DID serve, I wouldn't put it on a motorcycling jacket, if I had one and DIDN'T serve, I certainly wouldn't disgrace the services by wearing it as my own. If I belonged to a "club", I wouldn't feel need to advertise it...

Attracting attention and looking cool just ain't me. The tires are round, the point is to roll... get from one place to another, and enjoy the experience of seeing the world... and I don't need to attract any attention to do it. I accept the fact that I'm ugly. Now that I got this big scar on my knee, I've lost my modeling contract with Vogue and GQ, I can't afford to spend money on noise and glitter. It's a mode of transportation and an opportunity to put the annoying parts of the world behind me, not a rolling rave.

I ain't about 'the look', or 'the lifestyle'. I don't need the world to hear my stereo, or be blinded by my chrome. If I take my bike to a show, it's gonna be dirty, about ready for a new set of tires, and have a half-tank'a gas and a crumpled up atlas in the trunk.

fired up the SunL and went for a short ride

Moved over a ton of concrete landscape blocks. My arms are tired. Went to the Tea Room in the evening - good group there, but weather isn't right for a lot of bikes yet. Everyone is looking forward to "the Possum Motorcycle Gathering" next month.

Second followup to the orthopedic surgeon... they took some Xrays, and checked their work, gave me the go-ahead to start walking unlocked in the brace, and clearance to drive 'for conveyance' (so not biz driving), but at least I can return to a somewhat-normal life and get this leg workin' again...

Mebbie when weather warms up next week, I'll be okay to look at the GL...

Took a demo ride on a Spyder RT Limited Sea-to-Sky. Nice, smooth, different. My 1800 had a dead battery (and it's only 9 years old) so I rode the '79 GL1000. ~90 miles RT, mostly interstate, ran great!

my foot spazed again last night so i thought i would go for a ride. it ended up being 158 miles, here are a few pic's

The skill in these murals is just incredible.

What is that building ‘Gregory’? Looks old west and odd lines , illusion maybe.
a realty company occupies it now but just to the left is a gas station that everyone seems to stop at. the mural is in Jackson, MI

over at my sister sandra's house then found a mural on my way to mom's and a stop at mariner park
