Odd, a guy selling all his tools. What's the story there? Retiring or not, my tools are my blood.

He sold his business and now has no need for them.

Bet he got a boatload of $$$ for it too.

The GL1000 guys are getting some age on them. Pistol Pete is still going, but I think all he does now is carbs. We need some young guys to pick up this specialty, or the old girls will start loosing their dance steps. I did my own carbs and tach/speedo, but Pete is only about 10 miles from me, so there was always that emergency out if needed.

i guess mike nixon the man now it seems on carbs .... an era gone now for sure....

Robin over at NGW is also an "approved" rebuilder I believe.

Yeah, Robin is developing a nice following. I hear good things. I also have a six-pack of Mike Nixon prepared CBX magic waiting for some garage time. (Might be the first job in the new man cave!) I hope Mike continues, but he's also one of the pioneers. As pointed out, we need new folks to take up the torch!

With the demise of Randakk's and the need for the up and coming generation to take up the slack, will this mean that the older FI bikes will be more desirable in the future? Just saying.

Cheers

I must really be missing something here. Randall is selling his tools, but Randakk's Cycle Shakk is still in business selling all of the carb parts and stuff. So, he has stopped working on bikes and is now only focused on selling the parts right?

Nice looking "85 LTD, not SE-i. So many good bikes out there and not enough room, and on the wrong side of the continent to boot.

I guess, like most people that you don't read the previous posts.

I explained that he had sold his business.

I could be wrong (and I am sure I am), but I thought the restoration business (which required all of the tools)was sold and he was partnering for the parts business as a stand alone business in Florida. He sold his stake in Randakk's Cycle Shakk parts business too?
