man this gas stuff is great put a liitle in and it instantly fixed the motor runs well ....I think ill use it again ...yes even with the low number on compression it fired right up ...im extremely pleased reved fine didn't run it long no radiator ...but now its clear motor mod seems good I heard nothing in lower end ..just great bikes going in doghouse now for finish up and dressing ...I love it when it comes out like this ...sounded good and healthy only to get better :yahoo:

Trouble is, the feds want us to replace our gasoline with corn squeezin's. Now, I'm kind of partial to the medicinal product produced in these mountains, but NOT for running (and ruining) my engines on!

today radiator showed up ....so I was itching to run it longer .....put radiator on and started it ...well all I got to say is compression figures that seemed low in no indicated anything on outcome ...bike ran really well ...sit and watched it run for quite some time it idle so well with no adjustment what so ever it smoke I bit not much a soon cleared ...I tried to run it long enough to see if fan would come on but finally my temp tank ran out of gas ...it didn't get hot or close.....not sure how long I ranit but it was awhile ...couple pics of the second hooched doghouse build

from here the bike is totally worthy of finish ...and finish is considerable ...all brakes and clutch stuff is pretty much still in baskets somewhere ..triple tree and forks need all put together as front end was trashed ...extremely pleased at this point ...what releaf it ran so well justifying the work and gamble on this bike

I cant baleave I got the fuel pump not to leak the cam seal had to fit over fuel cam ..I was positive it would leak it seems not to at all .....also shows my temp tank hooked up as I do it ...

ran the hooch out dresser today ....seems my hunch on the 1200 carbs doing good on the 1000 heads is panning out big time this might be the best set up the dresser is running as good as hooch ever did for sure ....I cant baleave how snappy the throttle is ..it diffinitly runs better than the standard in throttle response ..

ran dresser again ....its running great ...hooch is to be test bike on stock carb racks in the hooch mod bikes setups now that it is c5 5 its a great test bike 1200 carbs seem to work well so the test go on on

ok ....that's was good ... im right in the middle right now ...1200 rack is on hooch ... and 1000 rack on dresser soon ...... i ive heard go joe before but it was while I was drumming though ...wild man with sticks :music: :rocks:

Looking forward to a comparison between carb racks. I still have 77's on mine but thinking of trying the 1200's on there. Now that I have a functioning tach and I have played with jets till I'm blue in the face, mine seems to run out out of gas below 8000 rpm. I might be literally running out of gas as my fuel hose is a little mushy even though new. I tried one more today. Hope to run it some after supper. Summer finally came to Manitoba. We have had almost a month below 80 for highs. Came home the other night before sundown and it was 62. Today we're at 87. Wish it was like this very day. I like the heat. Gojo.

Bet your engine goes "Paradiddle Paradiddle" etc.
When I first fire mine up if ever, bet mine will go "FLAMadiddle, FLAM FLAM FLAMaddile".

I went with a 140 main jet and a 70 air jet and it is smooth as silk up to 9000 now. That's probably high enough for the 1200. It's starting harder though. A 70 primary was too much. Right now I have a 62 primary. I might try 65, but I'm getting tired of messing with it. I like the looks of the 1200 carbs more and more. Just one jet to mess with. I just wonder about the smaller elbows running out of flow at upper rpm, but I think I'd be happier with all the guts lower in the rpm range.

65 primary jet sounds about right to me with all the mods you've done. Are you running ATF in the fuel too? If not that will likely help a bit.
