I have used an old spark plug with a welded tube and an air fitting machined to fit my quick connect compression gauge. Needed a deep set tester for Subaru Quad cam that had real deep spark plug holes.

okay my version is made in house no goo or soder ...just fitting milled and press in to empty plug ...it will not leak ...thanks for the for the help everyone im going to ck compression and see if im right

Guys,
Those look great but the adapters to the 10mm or 12mm heads are only about $10.00.Just go to your local parts house.
Nothing wrong with being enovative, but by the time you buy the brass and the JB weld you may be spending more.

Yep....I bought the adapter as the fast and easy way!

compression check on first spins after essembly ...carb rack off ....starter spun at about 3/4 speed it seemed ...#1 125 #2 105 #3 100 #4 90 ...ok it was close but I havnt set the valves and it think #4 is set to tight ...sheesh I have no clue where the feelers are at been looking for days :cheeky: ...I guess this is okay at this stage the mumbers adapter worked great and held pressure all night long ...again thanks for all tips on adapter I made ...it cost me nothing to make

well it don't matter much im hoping it all comes up some but its rather good for first time spin ...I think ...I hope ....there was a couple tight valves I finally just guessed on heavy side ...im not checking again ive cleaned everything up and whats the point ...not like theres something I can do I havnt done ......going to install radiator and stuff ...don't know if it good yet it took a hit for sure this must be the one from the standard 1200 that was wrecked ....putting carbs back on and off of hooch they seemed okay as far as working gose diffinitly not pluged up ...and hooch is fixing to get 75 rack tried on it ....this is the set I want to be on hooch ....

anyway its not far from trying to run it now ...if the wiring is all good and dosnt present new problems not encountered yet ....

Looking great so far! I was actually expecting compression to be a bit lower considering the miles and the cylinder work. I expect the rings will re seat nicely once it runs.

+1 as I am sure you are Joe that compression will only get better after running in. Pretty good numbers if it was an old VW..

boy did it rain here finally stoped im glad ...guees it will soggy day but the work on the hoochencade will be done ....souldnt be long time to zip it up to a point of trying to start it ... but there will be some luck involved I sure for everything to hook and just work and fire up and run ...

:yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: we have fire :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: I like the part when they run :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy: ....okay bad part is radiator trashed ...have to get another ...but this bike runs :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: I think it was a loooong road to here whew :whistling:
