Well I've just been working as usual. Since I had my hip replaced a couple 3 years ago it's been hard to ride.
Strangest thing too, I feel claustrophobic in a helmet, will need to get a 1/2 face I guess.

I got WAY behind on house repairs. Just finished a new roof, rain gutters installed. Working on painting the eaves and other trim, lots of dry rot to repair.
Guess I can't complain, last time it was painted was over 20 years ago. It's looking pretty good so far.

So how's everyone else doing getting up in years? I'm 62 and hoping for some kind of retirement some day!

I feel the same way about getting WAY behind on house repairs, yard work, moto repairs (been working on the '75 GL's brakes for a month), but I don't have a hip or knee replacement to blame for my lack of doing things. I just cannot get motivated!

Think I'm getting close to EOJ on the brakes. Going to replace a couple more parts, then everything is new or rebuilt.

I have been going to way too many funerals and celebrations of life. None were motorcycle related just got to life's EOJ.

Other than that, I'm doing way better than I should at 79. Thanks for asking.

Later, Bud...

I feel you. House repairs are easy to fall behind on, especially if you're not feeling well.

I need to replace a cabinet door. I had to drip my faucets, woke in the night to use the facilities, and the dang thing came apart in pieces. Tried gluing it, but it won't hold and look right.

Sigh.

Since selling the Slug back in May 2021, I haven't ridden since. I stopped before some of my conditions worsened. (I was able to put off knee replacement as a result.) For me, my arthritis is so significant I don't think riding again would be a smart idea. I am 64 and hope to fully retire by 67. I am very lucky that I work for an international engineering firm that has allowed me to work remotely since 2012. (Mostly their fault as they closed our NJ office and then our CT office. Had to work somehow.) My wife has long covid with many complicating factors and needs me to help care for her at her worse times. We sold our house in NJ (and sold our 1956 Chris-Craft at the same time) and relocated to northeast TN. Two of our daughters with their families and grandkids are down this way so we can count on them for help when needed. We purchased a spec built, single level ranch style home so everything is still new and likely not needing maintenance for a while.

I been piddlin on weekends, building an awning for the new barn I had built last year. Been a lil rough for me, as well, health wise, but I do what I can. I just can't sit around the house and not do anything...I gotta be doin something. Very lucky, and happy I am still able to work every day, and will continue to as long as my body will allow. I'll be 66 this April, and I'm payin for all the stupid **** I did as a young-un. Too dang cold to be ridin at this point. Gunna be -10 wind chill in the mornin....brrrrrr!!! 🥶

Holding up well for a guy in the middle of this pack (3 months younger than AApple). Mostly owe it to good genes; dad's 95 and still cuts his own grass and mom is well at 89, except for weakness on her left side from a stroke a few years back. They still live in the house I grew up in. Been fixing up my house one room at a time for 14 years. Built around 1900, it was retro-fitted with electricity. Have run out of rooms (except kitchen, it has to wait till I retire) so enclosing the side porch to make a sun room/breakfast nook off the kitchen. I'm a truck driver not a construction guy, so its a challenge. I'm waiting for my wife to turn 65 to retire, I'll be 68+.

Well I'm guessing that it's quite around here due to the lack of active users?....
I retired 5 years ago and still don't seem to have enough time for everything I want to do, but that's a matter of choice I presume, still riding around the country when the weather permits.

I've been lurking on the forums and staying warm in the house. Too cold to ride, no garage to heat and work on the bike, so it stays in the shelter logic shed out of the weather. I'm retired, 67 pushing 68 and very involved in The American Legion, so I fill my time with those duties.

Turning 75 this spring, & it seems that lack of motovation is my biggest issue.
Oncologist, as well as my pain mgt Dr are really impressed with my overall health.
Was taken off work back in 20011, so i have had a few years to take it easy.
Found another 84 Standard to refurbish, as well as a couple Jaguar's
First one was a base 04 XJ8, the other one a base 07 XJ8 Vanden Plas.
Both are white, with aluminum bodys, like the 1200 Wings, lots of bang for the buck
The Jaguars were owned by Ford back then, so their electrical issues are gone.

I'm not as motivated to ride as I used to be. At 72 & still in pretty good health but maybe it's about time to slow down. I like riding my 1100 more than my 1800, it is a hoot to ride but not nearly as comfortable.

I had open heart surgery in Nov. of 23....seemed like a good time to retire (I'm 70). Didn't ride the wing last year...it developed a problem in the driveline. Made up my mind to tackle it this spring. I put a bunch of miles on the KZ750. Still going to Wintersville to visit Hanni regularly...she's doing well.
