Thanks for the pictures, you could almost make a meal out of those bugs.
I should take pictures of the swarms I would drive through, the look like steam coming off the bushes... Nasty!

I am glad I wasn't on my bike I would have choked to death on them.

Did some more work on fitting/mounting/fabricating the tank cover, seat and tail. I am still trying to figure out how I want to go in the front of the tank, it doesn't really cover the front very well. I was thinking of doing a couple of small scoops out the side that I could fashion into ram air or I could go more low profile and just bring it back towards the frame with some vents maybe. Input/criticism welcome!

Seat and cowls look great and I am sure that you will achieve the same integration with the tank cover :good: :builder:

Thanks guys, I haven't got to work on it much, only in the mornings I don't have plans, it's been getting too hot to work on it in the middle if the day.

Thanks. I was thinking that too. I can actually fit the louvers from the stock side fairing in that space. Either that or, I ordered the right side scoop too, so I might just do the ram air thing. I want to make it so the whole tank cover just flips up to the gas tank, it would be easier to do this without the scoops.

I had to fix the cage this morning (it was overheating) and now it's getting hot out so, no real work on the wing today. :laptop:

I think I could make the scoops a separate piece and have just the tank piece itself flip up. But it seems like the scoops would hit the handlebars going one way and the frame going the other way. So if the scoops are separated it should clear. I think I will hinge it at the front. The right side scoop is still coming in the mail so I have a little time to think it over. I also need to reinforce the seat I cut up, fiberglass the tail make the tail light, and mount it all somehow. This will be interesting considering the seat is sitting right on the tank, I actually hade to shave the seam on the tank down and cut a channel in the seat for it to run through. I think I will use some aluminum pieces and rivet them on, just to stiffen it up a bit (I love rivets!). I may rivet all of the fairings like airplane panels just for fun. I am also a Jet mechanic so I really want to use some highly visible safety wiring!

That's the basic idea... It keeps me out of trouble.

Holy crap it's hot out today (105f). Way too hot to work in the garage on the bike, but I did mange to go get the cage tinted...

The grass is certainly dry, least your tint looks like it should stop a lot of that heat! Looks cool in more ways than one :music:

Yeah some Spanish jerk brought his grass to the new world a long time ago and it took over the native grass (perennial). That spanish stuff stays green about 1.5 months out of the year.

I haven't updated in while because it's been too hot to work on my bike and when it is cool enough I have been fixing/modding my car. When I finish lowering, building an intercooler, installing cutout, then I will get back to the OldWing. For now this is what I'm doing...

...Well anything is better than boost leak lol

But this should give it a couple more HP and less heat soak. The cheap plastic factory intercooler would actually cost more than this all aluminum one and the piping. So it was also the economical choice. The only problem is passing smog lol
