Be sure to carefully turn the motor over by hand a few times to be sure nothing got dropped in a cylinder and no valves contact a piston before you hit that start button.

:Awe: :crying:  :builder: :crying:

I think I'm in trouble here..

I got it going Like I said but there is an issue I'm concerned about  It seem to run fine @ an Idle but when you pour the throttle to it, it starts turning into a fog machine. (quick woo paa ). If you hold it @ 3grand it only show little. Idle nothing woooo paaa smoke blue.. So either the rings are done or the rings are done I guessing. I have no Idea where this engine came from originally. But the engine it self sound good no knocking or none of that stuff.. Dose it sound like I'm going to need to pull it apart and build it from the connecting rods out ..?

Sounds to me like the rings got stuck in the pistons. I'll bet a few spirited rides will get them free and reseated.

Is there any additive I can use in helping this along would you recommend..?

None really needed but a few ounces of ATF in the oil won't hurt. The added cleaning agents may speed the process.

Okay so Just so I'm clear 2oz in crankcase? :laptop:

2-4 oz in the crank case is fine. I've been running my 1200 with about 4 oz in the crankcase for a year now with no issues.

Okay super I will put some in there. No tag and my master cylinder is still needed the c/clip removed to rebuild it. also ordered the rear caliper rebuild kit (well the wife went to Honda for me I was nauseous) But she went down there and took care of it for me. along with new cover pins I couldn't get the role pins out so I just ordered new ones.. Thanks for the heads up on the ATF deal.. I sure didn't want to do this again but there is an engine on the bench waiting on the 76/75 heads to get here then its getting the 32/32 carburetor mod... :read: :music:

As nicely as you've put this together I can't wait to see how the spare motor turns out.

Most of those products are for car oil and not wet clutches. So may include lubricity enhancers that don't play nice with wet clutches like the ATF does.

I tried the oil and gas treatment stuff in this engine a long time back.
Turned out everything was a waste of money and all the engine needed was run time, and run time not being easy on it. Get out and wind the crap out of it.

Check the fuses and ground connections for the light issues. You may be trying to ground through paint which doesn't work well.

Found the issue with the lights . Now as fars as the charging thing go's the box next to the battery is warm The one under the cover is cold I had to keep the fan on to keep the charge down and I dont think that the dash lights being out would show a high charge 15 . The wires that go into the clusterfk are bad connection when the vetter fairing was added the wires were hacked some I'm guessing. So I will work on the wiring and drain the oil put some fresh in there or drain a quart out and put the quart of oil i took out put it back in the oil stuff is mixed into the oil thats in there now so I'm guessing that wont work oh well change the oil again anyway there is progress here today sure sounds good other than the smoking deal but mite need a ride to clear it up plus there is one on the bench and I can at the leat get some riding in before the weather turns hot as hell keep you guys posted.. Dan any word on the shirts and patchs yet
..?
