I did a bunch of little things, mainly with the controls. I completely disassembled the light and blinker switches, cleaned with degreaser, wire brush, toothbrush, alcohol, a rag, QD cleaner spray, dielectric grease. They where almost stuck when I started, they feel like brand new now.

Then I lubed all four of the cables with Honda 10w 40 conventional.

Soldered/repaired about 5 wires that the previous owner jacked up.

Re-purged a couple ports on the carbs that I forgot to do when I rebuilt them. Good thing, because a port was clogged.

Adjusted the valves (super easy on this bike, and every 3000 miles just like a Volkswagen).

Painted some stuff.

My phone died after only 2 photos of wiring porn, so here is all I got lol...

That looks like the three yellow wire conversion, nice work. If so I remember a member posted that the connectors that he used caused resistance and considerable heat build up. Might want to check that when she's all put together. ;)

Thanks guys.

I will look for heating up, but anything is better than the broken connector it had. I was looking for another 3 prong, but I ran out of patience and just did the male/female connectors instead.

It does have gold connectors (not real), I didn't think anyone could tell.

I am more proud of the blinker/lights controls refurbish, because it took a while, and I was planning on replacing them before I did work on them. Even though it is likely no one will ever see it but me.

Also does anyone have a spare hi/lo beam switch? I need one of the inside electric pieces for that control. I think I got it to work, but it is just a band aid for now.

Today was full of hangups, but I got a lot of work done too...

I cannot believe the powder coaters coated the where the bearing race seats. I hade to wire wheel it out of there...

But I got the new races in and had a local shop get the old one on the triple tree off and press a new one on....

I finally got #2 out of 3 pistons free. This one had some serious pitting. I decided to purchase all new brake pistons after the first of the month. The calipers appear salvageable...

I had to refurbish the left grip control. had to get the left grip off to put the end cap back on, SO in my infinite wisdom I used a properly sized open end wrench, fit it over the handle bar and gave it a smart whack with the rubber malot :head bang: :sensored:Neatly wiped out the high/low switch. gee I'm good, only took one smack. So before the hour was out I had a flea bay unit on the way. All back togather now. Thank goodness for flea bay, at least I can fix my boo/boos. :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy: got too keep in good shape until it gets sold.

Are the internals of the switch salvageable? I need the little curved circuit board material piece inside.

every thing seams to be there except for the outside of the sw. just won't turn on headlight, every thing else seams to work. If you want it you can have it for shipping. PM me with instructions.

On second thought I don't need it. Thanks though.

Started my new trailer build!! :yahoo:

Some more wiring, a little false-tank fitting. All controls connected to the handlebars and the handlebars attached. All cables attached. Most of the wiring done now, just lights left.

man ..that some nice work mad dog

Thank you.

I think the brake master cylinder came off of a Kawasaki ninja or something lol

When I get more money for parts, I will get superbike controls and maybe a quick throttle. I will get blue superbike grips right away because I need grips, maybe like these...

Bolted down the engine removed the front caliper it was leaking. Cleaned the seal again reinstalled it bleed the brakes no more leak from there I guess it finally stopped smoking maybe. I started it up 2 weeks ago it was smoking let it sit ordered seals. Started it back up today no smoking Guess it didn't want to come apart again. The only thing is the right bank idles cooler than the right. When you give it gas the heat is the same. Must be the idle jet must have got something in it (oh well) not taking it apart again. Also the flooding stopped to. Going for a ride later tonight. It's just to dam hot out there right now an it's only March. 90 on the porch right now.. Bike looks good I'm going to do the painting (fairing lowers) crash bars this weekend. :salute: :music:

Looking clean!

Okay here's the deal. It runs greaat. HOWEVER...The thermostat got stuck closed and it got a little hot. Not all the way over hot but past half plus 2 Over on the (M)202f' HOT. I shut it down and let it cool back down rolled home nice and slow got up to speed pulled the clutch in and coasted started it up speed and coasted it home. For some reason I thought I changed it while I had the engine out but I guess not.I also know that was not good for the engine and I feel :head bang: :head bang: I'm lucky it's cool out and waited till night time. So I think it's a go. Plus no more smoke either so Thanks Joe for the tip.. :music: :hi:. Plenty of power the carburetor work was spot on the money spent was worth it I must say. I will order all new aftermarket parts, fan switch, thermostat, cap. Going to try to get the rest of the painting done this weekend coming will see . :salute:
