Is 28 mph the max speed on that?
no it is not, I hit 34mph but the throttle wasn't wide open. i'm happy just doing 30mph
I am sure that was only because you had a tailwind. :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy:

actually that was on my way home with a 23mph headwind, the wind didn't seem to bother it much. one thing that slowed me down though is the road I was on, it is full of tar snakes and those ten inch knobby tires don't like tar snakes. as for top speed the Mighty CT 70 should top out around 40mph

I was out earlier today trying to get the GSA started but no luck again today. the new battery was delivered the other day but I couldn't find a torks bit to get the battery strap off so for now I just put the old battery on the charger at 10 amp. took the new battery and put the studs in ( makes it easier to connect the accessories ) it then put it on the 3 amp battery tender. the Mighty ST 1300 started up so I rode it up and down the block a few times before going in and having lunch

Like that stud idea :good: :good: :good:
leaving the nuts on top locks the stud but if you need more room on the stud you can remove those nuts and just lock all the terminals down on the post with a single nut, it all depends on what you need

I learned a trick for using the standard battery bolts. It seems almost impossible to start the bolt into the "nut" because the "nut" isn't fixed in place, and if you are going through several connectors the bolt sometimes can't reach the "nut". Solution is to take a piece of tubing (the overflow/vent tubing from a vented battery works well) and place it under the "nut". This will hold the "nut" in place and at the top of its cavity, also keeping it from falling out if you tip the battery. It is soft enough to allow the bolt to go into it if the bolt is a bit too long, too. I do this to all of my powersports batterys, now. Except the latest "Mighty Max" battery, which came with different style posts.

been doing that for years but I've got two connectors for heated gear, the GPS, the battery tender, and some aux lights all connected to the battery so the bolt was way too short. by using the stud I don't need to lift the nut under the terminal up

This is what working from home looks like! A buddy and I took two old goldwings to Tortilla Flat this morning. An old stage coach stop on the Apache Trail. Incredible road going in, almost zero traffic. One of the few times we could air them out without coming up on slower traffic.

I could get used to this lockdown mentality.

Mixed paint for the first color coat on the project bike. I'll do 4:1 black:gold then 3:2 for the accent. Using lacquer since I have no good paint booth setup. I will rattle-can 2K clear over it, but will have to wait until paper coveralls are available again. Or have the wife tape me into the old hickory cane cotton one passed down from my dad.

I was using a very narrow flat screwdriver to hold the nut up when reinstalling the Battery it would wedge in there real good but still be able to take out when done

took the GSA and went grocery shopping, later I went out and washed these three

loaded up some small stuff and took it over to JW's so he can finish up my XL 70, he was out riding around on his CT 70. stopped and filled up the Mighty ST 1300, $ 19.94 to fill it up. stopped on the way home and got a mural. once home I went and found the key for my '85 450 nighthawk, drained the gas, put some air in the tires, and washed it up then went for a ride on the Mighty CT 70

I always liked hooking up accessories to the battery side of the starter relay. Seemed cleaner.

Although this time I just hooked up the battery tender leads to the battery because I was lazy.

bled the front brake on the 450 and got the wheel to roll so I moved it and gave it a bath. uncovered the wing started it up then gave it a bath

After bible study and church (online), watched Bristol iRace then 2012 NCAA basketball championship game (Go Big Blue!) Sanded sidecover sags in the paint I did yesterday (luckily in the area that gets accent color).

Cleaned out both the east and west vegatable gardens, planted one more grape vine, tilled both sides, but looks like we gotta wait another week before night-time lows are high enough to not kill off the germinations. Moved all the furnature in the south porch to the east side (she's gonna run her shampooer on the concrete to clean it up good) gathered up rack equipment for a digital recording station that'll fit under my desk, painted a basement wall, vacuumed the floor and rolled in a piece of carpet to make a video studio, varnished a wood bracket for my brother, loaded some steel siding onto a trailer, pulled it alongside a building to finish out a part of the roof, burned a whole lotta yard debris, spread several tons of gravel for my neighbor, and didn't touch a single motorcycle... (sigh)
