thats is it eric ..just have the set ups and basiclly change swing arm and brake setups some shock changing it all simple ... the deal on 1000s is to have an extra set of 1000s pivot pins to modify for the 1100 and 1200 final drives ... is the basic mod

oh i should add eric there is drivesaft changes too involved .... i finally had to buy some snap ring pliers to get driveshaft hooked back up .....and hooch is in 1000 final drive gearing while i am modifying the 1100 final ...did test ride and things were fine

So it could be made to swap an 1100 and 1200 final drive without pulling rear cover? But not with the 1000? Probably would be best to have a 1200 ujoint welded onto a 1000 drive shaft to be able to swap all three? Then pull the motor and put the 1200 output shaft back in?

not i understand eric but theres no plroblem using all three on 1000 ..its just 1100 and 1200 drive shaft to work on 1000 framed bike have to be 1" shorter ive already got that on 1100 swing arm

well it seems i will try and put on a 1200 final drive and wheel on hooch if they check out good ....this will put hooch in the tall gear range not sure what this is in rpm at 70mph ... but it will more the road bike now witch is what i like anyway ...hooch has plenty to handle the grearing to say the least .....it will also increase the wheelbase huge over the 1000 set up ...like 3 3/4" ..... this will bring a lot to the table and quite the change .....we will see how it goes ... if i can get 70mph between 3000-3500 rpm it will be great ....this will be a bag less bike so the matching wheels will be nice also ...... :thanks:

With 1200 trans and stock 1200 final drive which is 2.833 and 15 in wheel, in fifth gear you should be cruising 60 at 3046 rpm, 75 at 3808, 90 at 4569 rpm according to the speed calculator.

My 1200 (Trailer Trash) LCD dash show 60 at 3000 rpm, 65 at 3500 rpm, 70 at 4000 rpm and so on up the scale. About 500 rpm for every 5 mph.

I'm sure the calculator and the LCD instruments are not 100 % accurate but they will be close.

there are 2 finals in the running 1100 and 1200 ... the 1100 final and 16" wheel like to know what those figures are ... in rpm at speeds

the 1100 final only increases wheel base 2 " ....instead of the 1200 3 3/4" big difference to consider here ....

With 1200 trans, 16 in wheel, 1100 final drive 82 thru 83 is 3.10

60 at 3296 75 @ 4120, 90 @ 4944. The 80-81 had a final drive of 3.091 but that wouldn't make much difference,

These figures are using a calculator program but should be close.

Had to change the figures, poked in the wrong final ratio. :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy:

I don't know what the deal is Dan, but either the calculator or your tach is off a smidgen.

well things look great 1200 final going on ...even though i dont like the wheel set up ..hooch is a much lighter bike and things might be just fine with the wheel .... it will also match nice ... and the taller gearing is what i want ....... more coming :builder:

wheelbase is 3 3/4" longer than 1000...tires have to be deflated to go in bike ... pulling final drive dont work good going back in especially on this mod bike ....going to be several mods going on that have to happen for thins to work good ... :builder:

From the pics it appears you will need to adjust the rear fender some. It will be good to get some width on the tire and stabilize the speeds you ain't supposed to be driving at.

:0fftopic: Joe, I see you have a Florida antique tag on Hooch. The bike is made up of so many parts from so many different years, is it still an antique?? :smilie_happy:

Sorry, back on topic.......
