    Two barrel carburetor conversion

You want progressive carbs, not simultaneous ones. And most of them also have non-removable chokes.

    Two barrel carburetor conversion

I think you should probably call them throats instead of chokes. To me the choke is the metal plate (butterfly valve) at the top of the carb throat that closes the throat off for cold weather starts. And I never had a problem with the progressive 30/36 or the 28/30 as far as setting one up to...

    Two barrel carburetor conversion

Hey Bob. Not riding much anymore. Too many injuries to the left leg, and it won't hold up a bike any more. :fiddle:

    Two barrel carburetor conversion

Take a look at the single carb setup for the Type III. And if you experiment with both the synchronous and progressive, you will probably find that the progessive works better for the GL1000 engine. The 38/38 is just too much for them. It is also why the 38/38 wasn't used on VW engines of...

    Poor man's driving light?

Have you aimed the light yet so you don't blind oncoming cage drivers, which could make them come into your lane at a very inopportune moment. Most cage drivers don't drive that well to begin with. :laptop:

    pipes

I would be willing to bet that none of the aftermarket muffler systems have a cross-over. To me it is just an unnecessary hunk of extra weight.

    locks vetter saddlebags

Ace Hardware. Mailbox locks. I used one to replace the very fragile original style locks for the glove box in my Willys CJ5.

    1979 GL1000 Electrical

If that plug is from a Vetter fairing, and you are not using the fairing, don't forget to tape over the end of the plug so none of those terminals is exposed to possible shorting out and blowing all the fuses.

    78 GL1000 Exhaust header question

1100 headers will fit also, and maybe the 1200 also.

    1979 GL1000 Electrical

Don't have a camera handy, and not sure how to post the pictures anyway. Just went out and looked at my '78. The empty plug there has a bundle of wires coming from the back of the instrument cluster (volt, temp, fuel) that is mounted in front of the faux tank lid. And two wires from that...

    Kelly Blue Book Value

Well, I am not letting a running anything go for 500 bucks. I am not that desperate for cash. And you forgot the shocks and springs, There goes another $500.

    Reverse 1988 Goldwing

I always park with the front wheel uphill to make that easier. Sometimes that means backing into a spot, sometimes you get to go forward. Even 600lbs doesn't roll uphill very easily.

Mesh jacket or vest for summer?

Mesh vented high top boots, Bluejeans, T-shirt and full face helmet. Although I were glasses and sometimes wish I still had one of the 3/4 helmets, so I didn't have to remove my glasses each time I get on the bike. Although I do miss my old NAVA full face. The temps have been running above 110...

    Rocker Covers

Love the seat (the whole bike really) :music: Where did you find it. The two that I have like that force me to sorta sit up against the false tank instead of back where I am comfortable.

    Foot pegs or Floor boards

Personally, I would like to see them hug the frame, or even angle from where the footpegs mount out to where the toe clears the head.

How are the Calafia different from the Markland ones?

    Foot pegs or Floor boards

bet he had really long legs. With my legs, what would be comfortable would be right where the heads are.
