I must have done something right because the little red light is on when the motor is at TDC and the ignition is turned on. I guess I can button everything up and put it all back together again.
Yep, your good.

Well I talked to Paul this afternoon and now I think I may need to re-evaluate. I was just going to use the standard curve and ground the other two leads and not worry about them, but he mentioned that if I was going to be pulling a trailer or using a sidecar I might want to use the other one or two settings. Hmmm. I have a hitch and a trailer, I just never used both together yet. I think I might need to get some toggle switches or maybe a rotary switch and give the other two curves a try in the future.

let us know the difference between them. I just hooked up the one not knowing the other one would be good for a trailer.

It is well worth the pain to install it. I love mine.

Time for my next dumb question! Having never changed these spark plug wires in the past, I am really not sure of the answer, and I cannot find the set I took off of the bike when I started. If you saw how my garage looked, you would understand!

I know the spark plug wires that came with the kit need to be trimmed to size, but is there a connector that goes on the end of the spark plug wire where it attaches to the spark plug cap? Reading some previous posts it sounds like you just screw the cap onto the wire... Is that all? What holds it in place?

Yes -you screw the caps into the end of the wire. put wires on coils and cut wire to length and screw away.

don't worry about the old wires-it was time to change them anyway.

And probably 75% of everyone on this forum has the same type of garage-full of everything and can find a darn thing.

:smilie_happy:

No Wes, I was only looking for the old wires to see how they were on the old caps. Re-using the old wires with the new ignition would be like taking a shower and changing clothes but putting on dirty underwear.

It's alive and breathing and the heart is beating!!!

Once I got fuel throughout the carbs it just fired up and sang it's song, but if you listen at the 30 second mark on this video, I begin to rev it up and I am hearing a ticking/tapping noise. This sound was not there before the C5 install, so I am not sure if this is normal or not.

While the motor was out I changed the belts and adjusted the valves but I still need to synch the carbs. So, with that wheel spinning on the back of the motor, is this noise the new normal?

Brian, I can hear the carbs are not synced for sure, but I do not think that tap should be there.

I cannot say for sure, but I thought the C5 was pretty silent?

Brian, I would let the engine cool overnight and check the valves. (Changed the belts too?) I would check the cam pulleys one more time.

Could be an exhaust leak, but it sounds a little higher up.

Way to go, Brian!! Once you get the carbs in sync, she'll have a completely different sound.

+1 on re-checking the valve adjustments. Did you turn it over several times and check all timing marks?

From my point of view the ticking is not from the c-5. I do not have that on my bike with the c-5. As you know I do not have a great knowledge of engines-I do know mine does not sound like yours.
