So my exhaust had problems and melted my bumper a bit so I spent this morning fixing that issue.

After that I got to work on the bike. I got the carbs and final drive out, also up to the the triple tree in the front. I got stuck when I needed a Honda socket to get he triple tree and swingarm off...

welding is'nt bad. got over thirty years of it been certifide more times than i can count. but you got to love doing it. or it just won't work for you. stick ,mig, tig, fluxcore. gas, aluminum, but no underwater. tanks, boats buildings,pielones.beems.rr cars, dock trialers ,truck and halling. also make your eye a little weak after a while. sorry i'm not close enough to do any for you guys. just don't have a shop to do it at on my own.

I did a little more work this morning. I disassembled the wheels, removed the wiring harness, and all controls. I am just waiting on the socket for the triple tree and swingarm then I can remove the engine and get down to the nitty gritty. I also determined that the triple tree bearings are shot, they feel like there is sand in them. So I'll put that on my list of things to purchase...

Today while procrastinating from doing my school work. I removed all that could still be removed from the bike. It took me about an hour to get that damned rear brake lever loose cause it was soo rusty. Then whenI finally got it loose it hit the engine so I couldn't take it off :cheeky: . I also cleaned the garage and installed my boost guage in my "race car" lol...

I ordered a carb rebuild kit and brake rebuild kits for all of the cylinders except the front master, bearings for the triple tree. Also some spray paints that I wanted to expirament with. I will be going to the salvage yard the front master, also a seat. front headlight (maybe a fairing too, I was thinking of an SV fairing in the front), rear fender, a gas tank cover (if they have one that I like), One of the things that I am trying to do is lighten up the rear and weigh down the front. It seems very rear heavy, I am going to cut off the center stand to start. Ihope you all are having a good weekend too!

So with the continuation of my procrastinating I went on a nice ride through some twisties this morning. I haven't given the RC a good work out like that in a while...

So after about 2 weeks of soaking the axle nut in PB blaster and banging away at it on a daily basis. I finally devised a method that worked. The problem wa the stupid wrench kept slipping off so I managed to rig a bar to secure the wrech to the nut and then I coud really torque on it without it slipping, I pulled the whole adjustmest bolt out with the locknut still rusted to it.

The engine is out and the timing belts look like they are in really good condition, I may just leave them. No cracks or wear marks, the rubber feels newish.

Anyway here are some pics...
