it hard to tell with those gauges ...butt being in fla ..you cant short change the cooling system ...id say that a bit warm ... if it was me id toss the thermostat and have manual fan switch also along with tempsensor fan operation ..

yeah that's what I thought too. my other bike ran a little cooler. I have my fan on a cycling switch now I have I slow down it cools down but it will warm up to that point no more than that. so I thought you either change in the degree of the thermostat or throwing it out entirely. thanks Joe bikes running really good though

Do you have the radiator air baffles on?
They make a big difference keeping temp down.
I was thinking the same thing, those chrome grills?

yes I was looking at the timing and it is advanced. When it turns over its a tight turn Like a hopped up Chevy I also looked at the overflow tank and it was to on the low line. So I will have a look through the bike tomorrow. But all and all she runs GREAT.. Very impressed. Engine is super quiet and tight as a drum and no more smoking either. Going to a car and bike show tomorrow. I also thought about running a cooler thermostat here in Florida. Our summers are hot.

Took my bike to work today to show my Boss what he helped me do by giving me a chance and over looking my past. He was floored by the outcome of the bike. I put my hand on his shoulder and said I owe it all to you Al Fusco You gave me a job when no one else would so here it is just about finished up Sir. :hi:

I also put the fan switch in and let it heat up to do it's thing. Come to find out it's the sensor in the block that reads temp that is bad. Not the New fan switch. The bike pegged out to full hot block (I had the lazer pointer) at the collant the whole time and when she pegged the fan turned on. So I do believe it's the gauge sensor. I had this happen before when I first took it for a ride. She went high than slammed to cool then back up again. I changed the fan switch (that still might be good) thermostat (that still might be good) gauge did the same thing. Looks like I'll be ordering the new temp gauge sensor from the autoparts. When I had the radiator cap off and snapped the throttle the coolant shot up to the handlebars so I know its fine too.. Had a good day with the wing

I got back from Canada and finally I am able to spend some time on the bike again. Tonight I put the rear case back on the motor - ready to go back in the frame. :yahoo:

Super Cool :music: :music: :music:

Changed the rear tire on my 86 and am trying to get the driveshaft back into the u-joint. This is the 4th back tire I have replaced on a Wing and this one is playing stubborn. Any suggestions?

:headscratch:
Will the tire/wheel not come off by itself on the 1200s, without pulling the entire diff with it? Just asking 'cause I don't know...

Yes let the air out of the tire, gives you just enough room, did it many times. As long as spacer doesn't act up will wiggle out easy enough, air in when you mount will work, its thinner side to side when new.

ordered, new throttle cable, push, already have new pull,on.then a new legal sticker fer plate, insurance is paid.time to ride..to much rain.. :moped:
