Wow - that sucks! Sorry to see that, whatcha gonna do? There are plenty of cases on Ebay, if you want to rebuild it.

I wonder if a machine shop could weld it up and refinish it...

Picked up some 1157 's LED'S from the Pilot truck stop in Fort Pierce. Toped Off the tank, ran 31 miles gauge,Laying on the full line now. Dose 4100 Rpm's sound about right for 75mph.? 78 1000
Oh update 24.700 miles now. Hope all have a happy Easter.. :laptop:

Changed the oil & filter and measured valve clearance on the 1800. Getting the 1800 ready to ride up to Kentucky tomorrow and take the wife's cousin for a victory lap - she just finished her final radiation treatment Friday and loves to ride. This will be my first chance to take her since she started this battle.

Have you ever noticed that when you make plans to do things, something else happens that prevents that? I wanted to work on the 1100 motor this weekend but the garage door opener quit on me, so I had to replace the "bike escape-hatch mechanism" so I have a way of getting them in and out of the garage.

Went fir a test ride after having installed new wrap around windshield and the mirrors... I like the taller shield wife.said she b felt cooler with.wind around her arms and back. I do feel the wind on my arms also but not bad.. now need to fill and install replacement air shocks... and make a hitch for towing..

I rebuilt the front brakes on the '83 mongrel. new pads, seals, de-rusted the sliders and got them bled pretty good.
This bike does not have linked brakes but the front calipers are two different sized pistons! Took it for a test ride and pleased with the performance. Rode the Aspencade too, always pleasant.

just for fun...kb

That block is toast.

How you suppose that happened?
Looks like at some point it was burning way lean , so much it melted the steel sleeve, observe the proximity to the exhaust valves.

Yes it does look melted when I zoom into the pic.

That happens if you run your motor to long after it blows a head gasket...The gas ignites into the side of the top cylinder and keeps burning it out like a torch...I've seen that a couple of times.
