    stripped rotor bolt .... redux

...... a follow up on my earlier thread concerning what I thought to be a stripped or busted rotor bolt on my 83. Needless to say the prospect of that bolt being stripped or busted was more than depressing; however, I would not give up that easy and damn if I didn't succeed! Was not getting...

Hopefully this is not a duplicate post, think I forgot to hit the submit button. Installed Marine Grade coaxels under arm rests on my 1200 Interstate last year, wired them to the sfont speakers directly, volume of rears less that fronts, sure seems, should I have wired them directly to the power...

" the quick carb clean "

ok guys the 1200 is now "alive"! was just about to order a rebuild kit from Radnaak but decided I would first try the " quick" method. Pulled the tops off, drained the bowls, took a fresh can of carb cleaner with a "straw" inserted it into the slide needle guide and powerwashed it big time on...

83 back rest swap to an 84

The final proof to this pudding is just try it, anyway, anybody "know" if a Backrest from an 83 Interstate will swap over to an 84 interstate? Measurements seems to make it close, but maybe the side covers on the 84 different enough to not let it happen? While I'm at it, how about a seat swap...

    open carb tops on bike

Picked up an 84 Interstate over the winter, running rough, actually thought it was only running on 3, not the case, but I do suspect # 3 carb has a problem, spark plug reads different than the others, all light tan to gray, but #3 is almost like its just clean (?) .... haven't checked the plugs...

    1100 exhaust modification

I'll start with maybe I shouldn't chop up a good set of stock pipes but that aside looking to "undress" my 1100 more to the "cafe" world, have a set of head pipes I was thinking of running 2 into 2 and fit with some "standard" baffeles, but was looking at whats there now and was seeing might...

    Interstate tie down redux

thanks for the input on tie down, note of close to the triple tree is also my understanding and experience, ie: framework for vetter III on my 80/1100. Looking at the pics of how to remove the fairing on the 84 Interstate/Aspy I can see the oem framework up and around the triple tree, my...

    84 Interstate/ trailer tie down

My 80/1100 has very handy rails just under the Vetter where the rachet straps hook up to giving a real nice secure angle for tie down. What is the best way to tie down the Interstate for a trailer ride? The upper engine crash bar?

    84 Interstate speedo/tach conversion

....idle minds would like to know. Can the speedo/tach on an 84 Interstate be swapped out to a say 83 speedo/tach ( 150 mph model )? Yes, I know one is rectangular the other round and that is the point .... would require fabricating a new dash panel ( like walnut burl?) the question is will they...
