Progressed a little more today..
Started out cleaning the exhaust and the plan was to get it, the crash guards, and floorboards back on. Got everything out of the truck, and ready to install. That's when the trouble started. I couldn't find the dang thru bolt for the lower front engine mount, which also holds the crash guards and floorboards on. :Awe: Off to Lowes I goes, and get some 1/2" all-thread, nuts, and washers. Get back home, and realize I can't find the damn shifter linkage....ANYWHERE. I tore into the back of the Burban, not there. Trunk of my work Cad, not there. Work bench, not there. I'm convinced I left the dang thing at the other shop I no longer work for. I'm ready to call one of the guys out there to see if he'll look for the stuff Monday. So, I go ahead and get the all thread cut to length, and mount the right side exhaust, crash guard, and floorboard. Then decide to mount the left side exhaust, and fire it up for a while, just to make sure it will still start. About halfway thru doing that, and looking for something else, I find this...
:Doh2: Lower thru bolt, shift linkage, and the two friggin bolts for the air cleaner....
Oh well....gettin old sux, but whaddya gunna do?

Anywho, got it all back together, or all I was wanting to do today. I did get the rear chrome stuff bolted back on, too. Need to wash/wax all the tupperware, and still need to do some repairs to the fairing, but I can do some of that in the evening during the week. I did see a SMALL coolant leak from the lower hose housing...just one small drip on the floor. I tightened the bolts around it a smidge, and after running the engine, the leak appears to have stopped. I really happy with the way it starts, and it idles smooth at 1000rpm....it's never done that. I will still need to synch the carbs, but I think I wanna put a few miles on it first.
So....here's a vid of the first firing after installing the exhaust, and then a few pics of the bling install...

Those engine covers look great.
I really need to get that done on mine so if I get caught out on the road mirrorless, I can still shave.

Looks and sounds good! :clapping:

I wouldn't wait on the carb sync, they are out pretty good right now. Hear that kinda sluggy sound when you first blip the throttle from idle, that is carbs outta sync and a sticking slide. I would get the engine heated up to temp and sync those babies before heading out on the road. You have come this far and done great work!

SOMEbody PLEEEEZE stop me!
All I need to do to finish this project is clean the tupperware, and install it....that's it.
What am I doing?
Adding two new turn sigs, and 3 small running lights, and re-wiring all the other lights that were already on it, so I can just unplug them when I have to remove the chrome stuff on the rear. I've been having to just cut the wires, and put new butt connectors on every time. Tonite, I got most of the hard stuff done...while lissening to an 8-track tape of...Saturday Night Fever soundtrack....
Somebody please stop me....I'm losing it.... :swoon:

An 8 track player? Wow, now thats a real throwback technologically.

Oh well,
rock on with your bad self and the Bee Gee's. :rocks: :rocks: :rocks: :hihihi:
