As promised, pictures of my father-in-law's rear tire on his GL1500. Here's just two of the bulges on the rear tire - there are far more.

Had multiple learning experiences today. Didn't know the GL1500 has one rear air shock, and one rear non-air shock. Weird. Also, discovered it isn't too hard to remove a plastic piece from behind the tire, and the tire slides out to the back with no need to jack up the bike. All the videos I watched had the bikes on lifts, and dropping the tire down and then rolling it back.

I will say I like my GL1100 better for wrenching on. Way easier. Off the top of my head, I think we removed seven or eight pieces of trim to change the rear tire. We still have one piece of trim to add back on, but it got too late in the day to do that.

But the rear tire has been replaced, so has the final drive oil, and the rear caliper was inspected and there was no leaks and the pads looked good. Rear rotor had a note on it saying "GL1500 New 2000", which makes me wonder if a PO wore the rear pads down to nothing and destroyed the rotor.

Who is that on the Grom?
that's Shawnna riding the Grom

saganaga, that tire reminds me of the ones that were on my old 1200 wing when I picked it up. only difference I had to ride about 45 miles to get it home

Front tire changed on the 1500. After putting it back together, we found the tire rubbing on the fender. Which lead to an hour of troubleshooting our work before we discovered the problem was with the fender itself. (Which we never touched.)

Previous tire must have been slightly narrower.

Spent another hour after that fixing the fender and reassembling things.

That would stress me out a lot.

'79's forks rebuilt and mounted, fender and front wheel, front calipers. Waiting for MC rebuild kit and reservoir to finish it. Then she gets backed out and strobe timed/carbs balanced. Might change oil today while waiting. I changed it when it came home, but I like to clean them after that first run to make sure things are flushed out.

I received the new water pump in the mail and spent the afternoon reassembling to wing! She back up and running with no leaks so tomorrow I'll finish putting all tupper ware on!

after leaving henrys I rode down to the AT&T store to pay for my phone and internet service. left there and headed over to Stutz hardware to pick up a coil for the XL 70. on the way home I spotted this mural

I want to know what kind of car repellent you use William!
most times when I spot a mural the parking lot is full of cages so I have to get up early the next day to get a good pic but yesterdays pic had only one cage in the lot and it was just behind me. the murals I find down in the eastern market usually don't have anything blocking them because it is more of an industrial / wholesale area, once in awhile there is a dumpster blocking the view
