What is top speed of the CT70?
I don't know, the speedometer gear is missing and while I have another one it is getting too cold to install it today
went back out and got the luggage rack installed on the Mighty CT 70 then rode down the street to my buddy's house and switched rear wheels, it also gave me a chance to try out the luggage rack

For me, it stems back to a request I made of William for photos of him hunkered down on the mighty CT70 at speed. We all ride powerful and heavy bikes and, while this is not actually one, I know from experience that top speed on any bike feels fast. William also mentioned that it feels squirrely at speed now.

Funny, dang it!

left home about 07:15 this morning and went to Zeeland, Mi. so I could pick up some parts for the Mighty CT 70 from a place called my trail buddy. it was about 344 miles total and I would have rode the Mighty CT 70 but it was raining, snowing, and very windy plus the Mighty CT 70 is 6v so I can't hook up heated gear :)

My wife and I had an early New Year's with friends at a Thai restaurant - just one of those dingy places with authentic food.

Quite fun.

well so far I've made my yearly donation to start off the year
Thank you William!

kind of cold out, I only had time to install the lift handle and replace a few of the downtube / cradle bolts on the mighty CT 70. I think the rear of the bike looks better with the 4.00- 10 tire on it, it had a 3.50- 10 on it when I bought it

Wife and I rode the GL1800 to Cumberland Falls State Park (~75 miles away in Kentucky) along with a Ural, '18 GL1800, and a Spyder. Met about a dozen other GoldWingers there for lunch.

Today was our day to put all the Christmas decorations away. I enjoy the holidays, but I’m glad all that is done.
I hear the 12 days of Christmas start Christmas day so my lights will be on at least until the weekend

once home from henry's I went out and put a new headlight in the Mighty CT 70, the low beam was not working on the old headlight. I also put a new exhaust heat shield gasket on. I also looked into why my speedometer isn't working. I took the front wheel off and made sure there was a speedometer gear in the wheel, there was so I reinstalled the front wheel but could not reinstall the speedometer cable so I think the cable is too short causing it to bend to sharp if the cable is hooked up. i'm going to order another one. got a chance to go for a nice ride with the 4.00- 10 rear tire on, its much more stable compared to the 3.50- 10 tire that was on there but the bike sits up a little higher

Hooked up the camper and headed South. Currently sitting in an RV park in Clarksville Tn, watching the rain. Will go down to Montgomery Al tomorrow for a couple days, then head towards Tampa. Still looking for the sun!

my plan was to leave henry's at 15:00 go home and put the new shocks on the Mighty CT 70 but before leaving henry's I got a text about a fish dinner at JW's house, forgot all about those shocks :)

Just helped my neighbor's friend jump her truck.

So gather around for this tale of woe. She brought her truck in - they said the battery was bad and replaced it.

It died today at the convenience store down the street. They called us and we headed over.

While jumping it, I noticed the positive battery terminal was so loose that I could pull it off. Truck did run with the battery cable off, which is a good sign.

We swung by our house and I tightened down the battery cable. Just for ***** and giggles, I checked with a multimeter while the truck was running - about 11 1/2 volts. When we turned the truck off, we were getting a little over 9V off the battery. Same voltage on the back of the alternator terminal as well, so the cabling was fine.

Truck wouldn't start again, obviously. Pulled the car around, and I checked my multimeter against the car - a healthy 14V.

Now I'm not a mechanic, but that sure seems to indicate a charging problem to me - the system isn't producing enough voltage to keep the battery charged, but has enough voltage to keep it running (at least for a bit).

As a bonus, she's having trouble finding someone to work on her truck since it's a '94 and that's "too old" for many mechanics. Not sure what that means, unless modern mechanics are only learning how to read OBD II trouble codes.
