I got a wood stove installed this year and love it. It's quite small, but is perfect for my modest house. The problem is that I can't get a piece of wood in any long than 15". I had accumulated a fair pile that needed to be shortened to size, so my dad came over with his McCulloch chainsaw that he got at Caldors decades ago. Put in 2 hours with him; he ran the saw, and I loaded and unloaded the cradle. Dad turned 90 last September. I'm the luckiest guy I know.

:good:
I hope that if I get to 90 that I can still handle a chainsaw. :salute: :hi:

Waiting to hear back about an old Virago my wife is interested in. Don't know much about the 535s, but they sound like a good motorcycle for a smaller rider.

That's an annoying size. 18" would work a lot better for firewood, since that should take anything in a face cord of wood. Also only means 2 cuts for a full cord (leaving 3 16" pieces).

I was trying to post this yesterday but was having problems posting pic's
honda minitrail rims are two piece rims that bolt together to make the wheel, I put one together today and installed a new tube and tire. after putting the wheel in the garage I took the black toro 521 out and lubed up the shafts and shifter

Today I helped my son put some of his 2016 BMW S1000RR back together.
Front and rear wheels on. Brake light with integrated signals.
He’s still got a few things to go back on. I think it will be back on the road tomorrow.

Firewood and snowblowers… Bah.

Me and a couple of Valkrie buddies rode out to Canyon Lake today. Had hamburgers on the balcony. It was in the shade, so it was a little chilly. Ate with my jacket on.

I'm envious now, but I won't be come summer.

once home from henry's I got excited cause there was a package on my porch and inside the box was the speedometer that I had ordered for the gold CT 70. I was soo excited that despite the 27f temp I went out and installed it and the brake lever. it was too cold to do more work on the bike

Wow 27F. That's determination.
well the speedometer just drops in and you're done, it took more time to get the bike out and back in the garage than it did to install the parts and take the pic's :)

I probably shouldn’t mention that we are in the upper 70s and expecting 80 tomorrow. Little warm for February but I’ll take it.
doesn't bother me, I normally look at winter as a time to plan up comming rides. late winter and early spring as maintenance time

This is a "what WILL I do today". I'm off work. Dr. appointment at 8:30. Fasting. Ugh. But after...

Getting irrigation water at 11'ish from canal in back. (Nice feature of a county island in the desert). Then I have all day in the shop! Traffic is murder on Friday so I probably won't go for a ride. Rain this weekend. I have a number of "things to do" in the shop. Several machines need oil and/or water refreshes. Might go that route. Or putter on the Vmax.

The 78 has become my go-to ride for short jaunts and errands. It is by far my most used motorcycle. Needs a clutch cover gasket though.

(No, I will not be doing THAT today...)

Have a great weekend, guys.

Does it really NEED a clutch cover gasket? I'm thinking about not bothering on my present project - maybe just glue o-ring cord around the inside to keep dust out. This isn't a lubed area, anyway.

Uhh, You might want to review that area PJ. It most certainly is lubed. Pull the cover and nearly a half a quart of oil pours out. These are wet pack clutches, not dry.

In fact, mine wouldn’t even be leaking if it hadn’t been for my failed conversion to hydraulic. Still have the bits, but ran into many snags on the installation. There’s thread about it around here somewhere…

<<EDIT: I’m talking about the entire rear cover, not just the clutch cover plate.>>

Ditto. Do wish I had at least one heated garage though, but it would just get me in trouble. I'll just save that dream for retirement.

I do need to drag out my winter bicycle though and see what I need to do since I may be working again shortly.

Ah, well - yes, the rear cover does need a seal.

spent 4hrs at henry's this morning then went to Rosenau power sport to order a few nuts and bolts for the gold CT 70. from there I drove over to the AT&T store to pay a couple of bills before heading home. once home I had three slices of pizza for lunch. around 13:00 I headed out to the garage to swap out front wheels on both CT 70's. I had to swap the front brake backing plate on the gold CT 70cause the brake cable holder was broken. putting the old tire off the red CT 70 on the gold CT 70 raised it up some, now the front is at the height it ought to be
